Buying ₦100m APC Presidential Form with my Name is an Insult, I Never Authorized it — ex President Goodluck Johnathan

Goodluck Jonathan

Former president of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Johnathan, has shunned the almajiri group who bought a ₦100m APC presidential nomination form for him on Monday, April 9, 2022.

The former head of state stressed that he didn’t authorize it and that dragging his name and linking him to such a public move, despite knowing what he stands for, is nothing but an insult to his name.

Ex-president Jonathan made this known via a statement signed by his media aide, Ikechukwu Eze, the former President said he was not aware and did not authorize any group to purchase the form. The statement reads;

“It has come to our notice that a group has purportedly purchased Presidential Nomination and Expression of Interest forms, of the All Progressives Congress APC, in the name of former President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

We wish to categorically state that Dr. Jonathan was not aware of this bid and did not authorize it.

While we appreciate the overwhelming request by a cross-section of Nigerians, for Dr. Jonathan to make himself available for the 2023 Presidential election, we wish to state, that he has not in anyway, committed himself to this request.”
