The vice president of Nigeria, Prof Yemi Osibanjo, has finally declared his interest in running for president in the coming 2023 general elections.
Prof Yemi made a public announcement his declaration on Sunday Night, April 10, 2022, in a pre-recorded broadcast he shared on his verified Twitter page.
He shared the video with a caption which reads;
I am today, with utmost humility formally declaring my intention to run for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the platform of APC.
In the video, Prof Osibanjo having noted that he’s served Nigeria and Nigerians as their vice-president for the past 7 years, promised that he’ll create an environment where businesses will thrive in Nigeria. In his words, he said;
“If I’m given the opportunity, I’ll provide an opportunity for businesses to fly. “I’ll make sure the government agencies serve the businesses and also enhance our social investment and complete the task of lifting 100m Nigerians out of poverty.
“I seek the support of every Nigerian to work together by the grace of God to achieve a greater Nigeria.”
