London’s Chelsea FC has won the FIFA Club World Cup final. The blues beat Palmeiras 2-1 to lift the trophy at Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on Saturday night.
The first half which ended goal less, came back to a second half with a lot of action, after Romelu Lukaku netted for the blues in the 55th minutes, but was equalized by Raphael Veiga for the Brazilian side nine minutes later from the spot-kick.
Chelsea’s win came at the dying minute when champions league scorer, Kai Havertz, netted a late penalty in the second half of extra-time to give Chelsea their first FIFA Club World Cup.
Chelsea will now face Crystal Palace in the Premier League in their next fixture on February 19, after their Saturday EPL game with Arsenal which was supposed to hold at Stamford Bridge was postponed.
In a similar EPL news, Manchester United seems to be truly suffering from a curse after all, after leading their opponents in several games only to share points at 90minutes.
