The Catholic Diocese of Nnewi has gotten a new Bishop today, 9th November 2021. The good news was shared by the Catholic Communications Commission (CathCom) Nnewi, via a post that was shared on their Facebook page on Tuesday Afternoon, which reads;

 
 
 

NNEWI DIOCESE GETS A NEW BISHOP
His Holiness Pope Francis has appointed Most. Rev. Jonas Benson Okoye as the new Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Nnewi. Until his appointment, His Lordship was the Auxiliary Bishop of Awka Diocese.

The Catholic Diocese of Nnewi was created and officiated on 2002, by the Papal Nuncio to Nigeria, and has since then, been under the shepherdship of +Hilary Odili Okeke.
