Residents of some bandits infested communities in the Munya local government area of Niger State have cried out to the governemnt and other security agencies that bandits now have taken everything from them. They lamented that  packs of cigarettes and rolls of marijuana are now being used as ransom for the release kidnapped relations.

 
 

Some residents in the affected areas who spoke to Daily Trust in anonymity, confirmed that some of them paid payment to these kidnappers, and have been making the deliveries in desperation to secure freedom for their loved ones from captivity.

 
 
 

It was also confirmed that some of their loved ones were released few hours after the payment has been made, while some are released the next day.

 
 

The source who spoke to Daily Trust revealed that some families in the Zazzaga, Cibani and other neighbouring communities of the Munya local government area were among the affected communities, In her/his words;

 
 

“Your relation is in captivity, whatever you can do to secure their release, you do not hesitate to do it. There were some children that they kidnapped during one of the previous attacks on their farms.

 
 
 
 

The families have taken the items they demanded to them, and some of them have been released,”  Families also delivered to the bandits maize flour, packs of seasoning cubes and five jerrycans of petrol, as demanded by the kidnappers.
