Bandits Attack Jos Prison Center, Frees Inmates

Suspected bandits have attacked the Jos Correctional centre. Reports show states that the attack which is now dubbed #JosPrisonBreak occurred on Sunday, November 28.

Reports also reads that the armed bandits posed as prison visitors in order to gain closure to the prison, then opened fire on reaching the gate of the correctional facility.

As a result the attack, five inmates attempted to escape, they didn’t succeed as they were stopped by armed personnel of the service.

However, they managed to create  a diversion for the other inmates to escaped as the prison officials who were overwhelmed by the armed bandits, are trying to stop prisoners from escaping, fight off bandits and stay alive at the process.

Despite the location of the the Jos Correctional Centre, it didn’t stop these armed bandits from targeting and invading it, or shooting guns sporadically.

The prison  is located near the headquarters of the Plateau State Police Command as well as the Department of State Services (DSS).

The Ministry of Interior is yet to comment on this development.
