Ayo Adenupebi Arrested (aged 20) by the Operatives of the Akodo Police Division of Lagos State, for sexually assaulting a 9-year-old minor (name withheld) who lives on the same street with him. Ayo Adenupebi is a resident of Ise town of Akodo 

 
 

The incident was reported after the victim’s elder sister noticed blood stains on her (victim) thigh at about 7pm on independence day. When she asked her sister asked, the 9-year old claimed to have been sexually assaulted by her Ayo Adenupebi and pleased her against telling anyone including her parents.

Following the report made at the Akodo Police Division by the victim’s father, detectives immediately arrested the suspect. Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime but pleaded for leniency.

 
 
 
 

The Lagos state Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu while speaking in confirmation of the incident, directed that the suspect should be transferred to the Gender Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and possible prosecution while the 9-year old victim has been taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

 

Parents and guardians are therefore advised to keep an eagle’s eye on their male and female children or wards to avoid being sexually violated by shameless and irresponsible men like Ayo Adenupebi preying on innocent victims in the neighborhood. – P Hakeem Odumosu.
