Another accident has happened at Agulu lake in Anambra state. Preliminary reports confirms 11 people dead and several injured. The incident occurred on the evening of 26th December 2021.

Reports from Eyewitnesses who shared the news with LatestNGnews.com reveals that the accident involved a truck, a shuttle and a Mitsubishi bus, and the affected persons were burnt beyond recognition.
Another eye witness who gave his name as Michael Anochie told Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) that the accident occurred when a Mack Truck loaded with chippings manoeuvred to avoid a porthole on the bridge when it lost control and hit the Mitsubishi bus from the rear and then hit the shuttle coming from the other lane.

A distress call was sent to the Anambra state fire service, and they responded swiftly, but not before several persons where burnt to death, and many people severely injured.
The fire fighters from the State fire service were at the scene battling to quench the fire, but the two buses and passengers on board have been burnt beyond recognition. Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps quickly moved the injured persons to a nearby hospital.
This is the second accident involving a heavy duty truck and Agulu lake in Anambra in this December which claimed several lives and left several people injured.
