Sharing her decision to her verified twitter page, Yesufu disclosed that as she marked her 40th birthday she was alone in her room 8 years ago today when she promised herself that if God-willing she gets another 40years, that she will dedicate her life to being a voice that that speaks for the oppressed in Nigeria. In her words; she said;
8 years ago on this day I turned 40 and I made a solemn promise to myself that I will give the next forty years of my life (if God gives me another 40 years) to Nigeria. Today I reaffirm that promise. There is nothing Nigeria will throw at me that will make me give up on it!

She stressed that she was sad and alone in her room about the things happening in the country back then, but today it is sad that the things happening in the country has gotten a lot worse than it was 8years ago.
As she marked her 48th birthday today, Aisha Yesufu reaffirmed that she is still committed and promised to give the next 32 years of her life to Nigeria.
She stressed bitterness over the killings that has been happening in Nigeria, especially in the North, but not excluding the East, West, and Southern Nigeria. She called on Nigerians to unite and come together to achieve a common goal of lending our voices a towards achieving a better nation.
